    LIVERMORE, CA, Feb 19, 2025 – Topcon Corp. and FARO Technologies have announced an agreement to develop and distribute advanced solutions in the laser scanning market. The agreement is expected to expand access to progressive-edge digital reality solutions, resulting in complementary product developments, like integrating Topcon and Sokkia solutions with FARO’s solutions. Building on this collaboration will strengthen both companies’ offerings and provide added value to users.

    The collaboration aims to combine the strengths of both organizations in order to advance technological capabilities for professionals across multiple industries. It will focus on leveraging the companies’ collective expertise in laser scanning technologies, targeting key sectors, including construction, surveying, mapping, architecture, forensics, building information modeling (BIM), and industrial plant and process applications.

    FARO Expands Metrology Portfolio with Leap ST Scanner Release

    LAKE MARY, FL, Jan 24, 2025 – FARO Technologies, Inc. has entered a new category of handheld scanning with the launch of FARO Leap ST. The new handheld solution expands the company’s product portfolio, making FARO one of the few companies offering customers a range of portable 3D metrology devices. FARO paired the launch with an update to its FARO CAM2 Software, for an effective way to scan parts.

    Leap ST features five operating modes, ultra-fast scanning, hyperfine scanning, deep hole scanning, large area scanning, and photogrammetry. The metrology-grade tool measures and checks various surfaces and parts with accuracy. Its compact and portable design works well across different industries and uses.

    Additionally, FARO enhanced its 3D metrology software offerings with the update of CAM2. CAM2 offers options for scanning devices and probing devices, as well as a hybrid approach that integrates probing and scanning for solutions such as the FaroArm with laser line probes.
